Family! How are you all doing?! Those pictures make it seem like you guys are having good times this summer! Today was the first day of School in Lahaina, and I am SO happy! All everyone does all day every day here is go to the beach (I dont blame them) So hopefully with school starting, we're hoping that with school starting people will get on a schedule and be home. Today was a loooong day... out in the sun.. So its really late, and I am going to try my best to put an email together...
This week I was able to share my testimony alot on why I decided to serve a mission. I am very grateful to have been given those opportunites because I am SO grateful with how that all came to be. Remember after senior year how I wanted to take that vacation with fab 5 to Hawaii? The ONE week I was free to do anything and I could've flown way cheap, and stayed somewhere for free. Turns out that same week was when Uncle Randy was doing his Joseph Smith History tours in New York. Did I want to go? No. Did mom make me? Yep.
I can not express how grateful I am to have gone to New York and see the Sacred Grove, and the Hill Comorah and SO much more. I came to have such a love and testimony of Joseph Smith. I knew for fact that he was a prophet of god. The feeling that I had in the Sacred Grove and near the Susquehenna River was a feeling I dont even know how to discribe! It was just an assurance of something I felt I already knew, but it was different. It went from my head, to my heart. After coming to know Joseph Smith was a prophet, lead me to -of course- reading the book of Mormon and I was able to start my testimony and come to LOVE this church SO much!!
When the announcement came out about sisters being able to serve at age 19... I was VERY prepared when it came to making the decision of whether I wanted to serve or not. If it was not for Uncle Randy's tour In new York, I'm not sure if I'd be serving a mission! Little did I know Heavenly Fathers sense of Humor... I was going to Hawaii!! I just needed to wait a lil bit longer;)
In life- you make decisions. That's what life is all about, making decisions... every decision you make will either lead you closer to your Heavenly Father or not. If we always choose the decision that will lead us closest to our Heavenly Father, things WILL always work out. I know that this is true. Even with being a missionary, even though I am already on mission- doesn't mean the decisions stop! Every action, thought, or words can either lead you closer to your heavenly father or further away:)
Anywho- just a thought:) I love you guys! Lahaina is doing great! It rains every single day and there are rainbows every single day:)
