Mom! I loved hearing all about summer and the family:) Glad to know you guys are all loving having an rm home!! Haha i love hearing how Aaron is slowly adjusting. I already know I'll be adjusting slowly when I'm home. We dont even have texting here in our mission! Dad, thankyou for your email last week:) Keep being such an awesome dad and leading our family to the temple! The number one place we are all trying to be at:)
Well, this morning we went to Haleakala to watch the sunrise.. so I've been up since 2 am.. yikes - I'm so drained! Sorry again if this letter doesn't make sense. I'll try my best though!
So this week was so much fun!! Me and Sister Willis are like best friends.. love her!! and the work is picking up! I've been praying to find investigators so that when she leaves (in two weeks) and I take over the area, I wont have to start from scratch like Sister Willis had to when I came. Thankfully my prayers HAVE been answered! We have so many investigators! We are now teaching Melissa and her family- we had a lesson with her kids on Sunday! It was so fun to teach all them! We committed Melissas daughter kayla to baptism with her mom!August 24! I can not wait! Melissa is the one that is always asking "How can I be more mormon?"
So Melissa, Sara, and Ed. Its like a gold mine!! We first found Sara, all her kids then melissa, all her kids, now Sara and her family are bringing Melissa and her family to church and fellowshipping. ED knows them both, now were teaching Ed's son, Eds kids- THEIR cousins. They now have baptismal dates. Haha its like a never ending chain.. and me and Sister Willis just love it!! We are very bold. Sister Willis has taught me to be bold and loving, and crazy because it works! People are always so much more willing to do things and be baptized then you think!
Funny story- So me and Sister Willis went to one of our 'mini missionaries' farewell on sunday (in the pukalani elders ward) and a cute couple came up to us and we started talking story and found out they've been going to mormon churches for 3 years!! And have been thinking about becoming members! Next thing we know WE set up a baptism for them in September!! hahaha... we went up to the Elders and told them about their new investigators and their jaws dropped. Supposably the ward and the Elders have been trying to catch them forever to meet with them. Me and Sister Willis call it our "special Sisters touch" -ha funny:)
Well this week was President Interviews, Lanai, heavy rainstorms, exchanges with my favorite Tongan ever - Sister Piutau, and its just been a great week!
I have been RUNNING IN THE MORNINGS!!! Hahaha I run with the biggest smile on my face because I am just SO grateful for my functioning feet!! Its been over 6 months!! I was running in my Utah State shirt and a lady came up to me and said, "Is it because your mormon that you exercise so cheerfully?" Haha I just nodded and kept going. Oh my goodness, I have no words to express to you how much love I have for my Heavenly Father:) I have no doubt that he is there and that he answers my prayers. I know that he gives us hard things in life to learn from and grow from, I have seen it so many times! I can go on and on about how much I am learning and growing from my mission but times up! Gotta go! Love you!!! I'm having the time of my life. I've never been happier:) Being a missionary is the best decision I have ever made! Everyday gets better and better!
Aloha,
Sister Olsen
