So I'm kinda depressed. Just kidding. Not really. But I'm LEAVING MAUI:( and off to the Island of Oahu! (mom I'm sorry- but luggage kinda was too heavy so I had to ship some boxes home and spend $$$ on dakine card)
Today and this weekend was full of... tears, goodbyes, and lots and lots of food, lei's, and hugs and kisses. Wow.. there's so much Aloha in Lahaina. It's incredible. Sadly since it was General Conference we were unable to have sacrament to say goodbye to everyone.. so I didn't get an Aloha Oi. Haha but thats ok because instead I visited choke people!! And I got to say goodbye to everyone ... oh my goodness. Hawaiians give and give and give... Sooo much food and... just stuff!!
I would love to tell you all about Conference- but I'll have to be just short because I still need to say bye to a few people and travel over to Kihei.
Nok came to conference!!! Yippee!!
We sat by the Kanemitsu ohana all 4 sessions!! WOW!! I was sitting there thinking- never in my life, would I have thought- this time last year- that I would be in this new gorgeous chapel, in Lahaina, in Maui, In Hawaii, sitting with one of my recent convert families:) It was a powerful moment to take in. Sara is one of the strongest members that we have. I just smile and LOVE when I see her stress over her kids getting to church and looking sharp and paying attention, and being on time, and doing everything "the sisters would do" She is SUCH A GOOD MOM!! She is really excitied for Kaeo to get Priesthood, and she's preparing him for that. How cool right? She went from being one of the strongest catholics in town to the strongest member ever!
I am so sad to leave her and her familly. I am just so grateful and blessed to be able to see and feel the spirit change in their home over the past 4.5 months I've been with them. Ah.. you guys- this gospel changes LIVES!! Its so phenomenal. I love it so much! The Kanemitsu's are so happy and I have no words to discribe how happy I am for them and their conversion:)
Ok now theres Ed. Sooo remember how he had a baptismal date? Ya soo his wife called us telling us to never come by and to move on... sooo we prayed alot over the weekend for her heart to be softened... and then today- I decided I NEEDED to say goodbye to Ed kaahui. He's one of the strongest investigators who have and has come the furthest and is SOOO close!! So we stopped by... (ha ya most daring thing I've ever done:/ --- scary wife-- yikes)
THE WIFE WAS GONE!!
So we got to talk to Ed and resolve what that whole phone call was about- he then said how his wife decided to watch ONE conference talk... so she turned the t.v. on and GUESS who was the one speaker she watched!! haha he says ''the good looking german'' Me and Sister Mottl jumped out of our seats and were like "elder uchtdorf!!!!"
Out of allllll the speakers and talks given, heavenly father KNEW that, that is what she needed to hear (i'm sure you all heard his talk- it was perfect) So now- she is going to start coming to church with Ed and checcking out the ward. WHAT WHAT WHAT!?!? So exciting:) I can not wait. I was so bummed thinking we wasted so much time with him.... but nope!!! Instead he's bringing his ENTIRE family into the gospel:)
Ok sorry family. This letter probably is crazy and makes no sense... I've been loosing my brains all weekend... I'm sooo so so scared for Oahu. Its very fast pace and thats where "all the missionaries are at'' ahhh so scared...:/ and on top of that I have to FLY TOMORROW! I still hate planes Alyssa.
Ok Aloha
Sorry I'm out of it:/
