Ohana
Dad, thankyou so much for the letter. Thank you so much for praying for my investigators!! They're all soooo so so close to baptism. I want SO badly to be able to see them get baptized while I'm still in Maui. I love them so much and being able to see them progress every single week, is amazing. It helps me and strengthens my testimony as well. To be able to watch Ed, Sibol, Shelby, Kalani, Ed Kaahui, Kanemitsus, Kawehi, Moleka, Keppa, and Arissa and so many more peoples lives change as they live the gospel is so cool. How could this church not be true? I say that about 100 times a day. Just in what possible way could it not be?
I am so excited about Alyssa getting her patriarchal blessing. Sara Kanemitsu just got hers too! What a precious gift we get to have:) Dad, the way you described the feeling in the room it something that I have experienced a few times out here, how cool to be able to hear your description of it! Grandma Olsen is definitley present during all these big moments of our lives, I will never, never, never forget that experience I had at the MTC with her.
Mom- Your incredible, your joy in the letters makes me so happy:) I think that's why I never get homesick, because you do such a great job at radiating our families love and spirit through your letters:) Thankyou!
And thankyou for praying for future investigators! Here's a miracle for ya! We are trying really hard to find new investigators to teach, so Me and Sister Mottl decided that we were going to fast on Sunday. Let me just tell you- I LOVE fasting so much!!! Sunday was just a miraculous day... I truly can't express the happiness I felt in church. Here's how it happened.... On a beautfiul Sunday morning, we walked to church with Ed Kaahui (investigator) and on our way we see Amy (Less Active we are reactivating) with her kid, walking to church. So I'm already freaking out knowing we have 2 people we're teaching coming to church.
Well it gets better- during the sacrament I started looking around a little, and notice there was A LOT of people we've been working with and teaching, in the congregation.. and It put a big smile to my face. :)
Well it gets better- After sacrament meeting- me and Sister mottle are walking down the hall- feeling so cheer-io, and run into Uncle Joe- He told us the best news ever- we had 17 total people at sacrament meeting today!!! WOW. Me and Sister mottl walked into the nearest classroom, started jumping up and down squeeling and just SO overjoyed.
Well it gets better- Then we leave to go to class... and on the way to class a member stops us and says, "Hey Sisters, I have two boys that need to be taught the lessons and get baptized."
Yeah- can you see why I love fasting?
Also- Ed stayed all 3 hours for the first time ever!!! SO GOOD!!
I have seen the Lords hand helping us over here in Lahaina. I am so grateful to be a part of building the Kingdom of God in Maui. I am so grateful that I am a part of those special 17 people at church. "have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay' neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men." Moroni 7:29 Miracles happen today, just like they did when Jesus Christ was on the Earth.
Sunday was a miracle, and I know it came from my Heavenly Father through my faith.
What a great week it was. I hope it was the same for y'all! If not, start looking for ways that it was:) Look for miracles, pray for miracles, they're there and they will come! God has not changed.. just the world has :)
I am just so grateful.
Alma 26:16 "I cannot say the smalles part which I feel."
My joy is great. I'll end on that.... ha ha:)
Love you all!
Aloha
Sister Olsen
My favorite quotes this week....
"The church is true..... and life is good."
"Knowledge: knowing you can hit a beehive nest with a rock. Wisdom: Not doing it.. let us all have Wisdom my brethren."
