Greetings from Henrico :) Haha aww Kim's email just made me SOOO excited!! It sounds like a vacation there! They stay in HOUSES?! Boy, I missed it by one month! Oh well, I enjoyed my 2 person room made into a 6 person ;) haha but wow I'm so excited to hear more from her. I can't believe how ready and changed she seems. She's going to do AMAZING!!! Psh and next Sara's in Puerto Rico?! UNBELIEVABLE! Next Josh, woops I mean Elder Wright, got his VISA! Great news is just falling out of the sky! Haha oh and we can't forget the homemade ice cream from Auntie Jill's, and homemade doughnuts from Vicki's! Mmm mmm mmm! (PS if you think you're going to be pudgy... try being here. I can eat more than all the boys in our family combined now! Remember the tamales we get in Arizona... ya the other day I got fed 6 of them! I don't even understand how I'm not a thousand pounds. We eat FAR more here than in Woodbridge, and I thought we ate lots there! Haha)
Ok, as far as this week goes we've had a mas o menos week. It wasn't as amazing as last week, but it was still super good! I love working with that cute little family that I told you about last week (Roberta, Ruben, Ichxel, and Gaby). They are DARLING. We have to take it a bit slow with Ichxel because I guess she gets really overwhelmed when the baptismal invite gets brought up. Haha Speaking of BAPTISM!
I had my first BAPTISM!!! YIPEE :) I didn't think that I was going to be able to find a ride up to Woodbridge because it's so far away, but we DID! Aww it was so fun :) We sang my favorite song which reminded me of my own baptism. "I like to look for rainbows." It truly is amazing how far Digna and Luis have come. They just seemed so much happier as family. The girls that literally would not even LOOK at us have opened up so much! The youngest was the shyest of the two and I got her to come sit by me and take a picture with me! Awww I'm so sad I'm not there anymore, because the little 9 year old would be baptized in NO time!
After the baptism it was their Noche de Hispanidad, and our ride insisted that we stayed. Haha she was just going CRAZY. Hispanics know how to through a party! There was food from every country. It's so fun to be able to be here before going to Argentina because I've been able to learn so much about the different countries! We missed the show part because we needed to be home, but it was still super fun. It was so good to see everyone from Woodbridge again... I MISS THEM!! I felt a little guilty being there rather than working, but we wouldn't have really had time to do anything if we went straight home anyway. I've turned into Hermana Wallis... I GO CRAZY if I'm not working! Haha It was super fun though, so I don't regret it! :) Haha
Hmm... well the highlight of the week here in Henrico was probably the Egyptians. We got this call with broken English that said "You promised you would come back." ha we had NO clue who it was. Well, turns out it was somebody that Hna. Danger had read the bible with a while back. Well, we went and taught them and they actually seem to be pretty interested! They are the NICEST people in the world! They were teaching us some Arabic. I have a new obsession with languages. Someday I'll learn them all ;) Haha but ya the Egyptians are grand. He just had so many AMAZING questions! We had to do a pass off lesson to the English sisters which was a bummer, because they actually wanted us! Sometimes it feels good to actually be wanted by your investigators. Hahaha the people we run into on the streets talk to us for an hour and by the end it comes down to them just being to lazy. Not in a mean way... a guy we talked to basically said that he didn't want to work that hard. BAHH Haha
Funny Story: Hahaha so here we run into SOOO many people from different places. At least once a day I say HOLA to someone and get ignored, Yep that awkward moment when you realize they don't speak Spanish. Hahaha it's so funny! We see TONS of Napoli people. Anyway... the other day there was a guy on his porch and we went up to talk to him but he spoke FRENCH! I wished I had Kristin's background with French! Haha but we had like a 10 minute talk trying to communicate between French/Spanish/English. Best thing ever! He was SO NICE! Haha but poor thing we couldn't even communicate with him. Haha I had him write down his number and email, but his number only has 9 numbers. Haha and his email has letters I've never seen! hahaha Oh we just have the BEST experiences with different nationalities. Sorry about that last paragraph, there are a thousand HAHA's :)
Anyway, Love you all so much! I hope everything is going amazing! The work out here is fantastic. I'm having more fun than ever on my mission. We're learning SOO much together :) I'll send some pictures right now. Have an amazing week! It was wonderful hearing about the trip to Washington! PS, how's Shelby doing at school?! What's her address?? Does she come up for Sunday dinners sometimes? Fun fun stuff. LOVE YOU!!
