Hola Familia!
Well, I've moved on to transfer 2. Crazy how time works out here! I stayed here in Woodbridge with Hermana Wallis, and Hermana Call transfered down to Chesterfield. It's SUPER different with just the two of us. I think it'll be good for me though because it puts a lot more responsibility on me. AHHH! Ha that means teaching more of the lesson. :/ Mom, teaching still terrifies me. I just have to remind myself that it shouldn't be me doing the teaching anyway! When I can put that thought in my mind that's when I have the most success! When I don't I just stumble over my words and start sweating in a panic! Last night I had a really cool experience with that. We went to visit an inactive that we hadn't planned for. She was born and raised Catholic and has unfortunately returned. She was not the nicest of the bunch, but that's ok. Anyway, out of nowhere I just started speaking Spanish that was actually correct! I was the boldest I've EVER been! The spirit was so so strong and I just had the biggest desire to bring her back. She wasn't the most accepting... but maybe with time eh? Her husband has been coming to church, so maybe that will help! I was just finally content and not nervous to just teach. I didn't even know what I was going to say, but it just came! MIRACLE :)
Hmm... what else has happened? We had a talent show and it was the funniest thing ever! We have the best ward ever! We didn't stay for it all, because Hermana Wallis is sure ready to work! She doesn't like anything of that sort... meetings, activities, haha it's funny. I guess I'll really know how to work hard though so it's good.
The missionaries teach a lesson every week on Wednesday's, and this week we decided to do some object lessons. It was SO funny! There's this one that you smash a can on your finger but it doesn't hurt because the can forms around it. The reaction was PRICELESS! Hispanics are so funny. I've really been loving the ward. I hvae really made an effort to get to know them, and it has really paid off. We are getting referrals left and right!
Many of our investigators are interesting. I can't quite always figure them out. Hispanics can't say no, so it always seems like things are going great! Until the next time you ask and they haven't followed through with the commitment they committed to. BUMMER ! No sign of a baptism in the next few weeks, but perhaps at the end of the month. We're really working hard with a few of them, so hopefully it all works out!
Thanks for all the support out here! It is much needed. What a blessing it is to be out doing the Lord's work. It truly is amazing how he works miracles through us. He has prepared sooo many people, and these people are all waiting for somebody to remind them of the things they are missing out on. This gospel is the ONLY true church. I know it with all my heart, and I KNOW that everybody needs it to live a truly happy life. The mission is hard. I go through ups and downs everyday of it, but I am so grateful for every second of it! It's amazing to hear the wonderful things you have been doing as a family, I know that it has been blessing me. Thanks for all the love through the emails, letters, and packages! Love you!! Have a fantastic week!!
